Mana Ibrahima Idrissou, Cameroon-born singer and guitarist, is better known as Idy Oulo to fans in Quebec, which he fell in love with after last year’s tour. Oulo means arrow, and there’s no doubt he’s hit the bullseye with the Ténèbre album and a song-a revealingly humourous celebration of his ethnicity-called Né gros et beau! A resident of Angoulême since 2000, a 2003 finalist at the Découvertes du Printemps de Bourges, Idy Oulo is now a proud ambassador for his native Fali and Peuls ethnic groups.
